Stop PE exemptions

At September the 1st I’ve put on my blog first post regarding this action.

There were a lot of comments; I’ve also received big number of mails. Many of you support this action but also there are many people against it.

Those that are for PE exemptions raise their arguments about the lack of classes’ diversity, the grading system that is inadequate to individual abilities of the ones taking class, the lack of showers in schools, poor exercise halls conditions, the lack of professionalism among PE teachers. Some of the correspondents consider this action unhealthy as it may lead to forcing students to participate in class which can cause trauma.

Let me explain: the action “Stop PE exemptions” it’s not only an attempt to limit the number of exemptions. I encourage everybody to read the PDF documents on this page: http://www.msport.gov.pl/article/stop-zwolnieniom-z-wf. Those papers clearly explain that the Ministry of Sport and Tourism is aware that PE classes are treated as ones of lesser importance in some schools and it takes decisive actions for this situation to change for better.

I do believe that the action “Stop PE exemptions” won’t result only in posters, television promos and press releases. I do believe that things will change for better.  I still am against exemptions this is why I support this action in one of television promos. By just like you, I would like for adults to create an environment for pupils and students that would allow them to say honestly “I like PE!”.

You can help with that. Together we stand strong, and there are a lot of us. Write to me mostly about schools and teachers that can induce the love for sports. We know that in many places things are bad, but let’s highlight the good ones.

Because keeping young people fit is deeply in my hart I will continue to write about this. And not only write, I will also take actions. That’s a promise.
